This series consists of records related to financial aspects of the World Hunger Program(WHP), for which the primary vehicle for raising funds was the World Hunger Appeal (WHA). The files were in the possession of the Rev. Roger O. Livdahl, WHA director from 1991-1998. There are budget spreadsheets and charts showing WHA revenue and expenditures for programs provided WHA funds, as well as WHA administrative expenses. In addition to WHA financial figures, there are also itemizations of WHA income from endowment funds, trusts, and bequests. Budget figures pertain to domestic hunger programs as well as relief assistance provided overseas through the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Division for Global Mission. Folders titled "Budget," are primarily budget updates provided quarterly or yearly for expenditures related to particular aspects of the World Hunger Program. Because the WHA assumed responsibility in 1991 for promoting the ELCA Domestic and International Disaster Response, there are records pertaining to revenue and expenditures related to that effort. This series also contains a limited amount of correspondence related to the WHA. The bulk of it relates to acknowledgments of income from trusts and bequests. Duplicates were removed.
